SCADA laboratory is established as part of MOU between BEC Bagalkot and PRDC Bengaluru. This laboratory aims to provide UG, PG and Research students a feel of Power System Distribution. They will be able to conduct energy management studies.
BEC Bagalkot receives power at 11 kV and has dedicated 11 kV/415 V transformers to cater to the load requirement of the college premises. The electrical system within the college premises covers a vast geographical area and the LT power is distributed to different load centres (buildings in this case) through overhead LT lines and underground LT cables. Distribution system automation and control is to be demonstrated through the distribution network infrastructure readily available in the college. This lab makes use of the existing distribution facilities in the college and builds the SCADA infrastructure around that to facilitate the students to conduct experiments and also work on their projects.

Distribution SCADA software helps the students in carrying - out experiments using the meterdata or communicating with the meter directly:
-
Calculate voltage and current unbalance
-
Power Quality & Calculate the number of interruption & period of each interruption in a set period
-
Check overloading & under loading condition and no. of occurrences for a set period
-
Real time data trendingCompute min/max & average current, voltage etc.
